"Our committee could not be more pleased with Bob's work...Throughout the process, Bob was energetic and enthusiastic. He helped guide us in identifying the key concepts that we needed to convey to our target audience...Bob was creative, coming up with ideas to meet our recruitment goals...he inspired us to think outside the box and help produce a better product."

Objective: create a cohesive design for recruitment materials, including posters, brochures, and advertisements, for the Marin County Civil Grand Juror's Association(MCCGJA).

The MCCGJA is an oversight committee for Marin County that covers a wide area of public entities, including utilities, housing, education, and transportation. We needed a way to convey those broad responsibilities with imagery that was simple and effective. Our target audience was mostly the senior community, so the typography needed to be clear and readable.

Design Theory:
After going through several preliminary design sketches, I created the imagery of a magnifying glass focused on icons that represent a few of the entities the MCCGJA oversaw. For the initial poster, we needed an image that would catch the audience's attention from a distance, which led to the central focus of the design.

Typography:
I chose the Futura font family for its simplistic, geometric design. Futura is easy to read from a distance, which was key for our target audience.

Color Theory:
I found a dark blue tone that was appealing to my clients and suggested white fonts for the contrast it provides against a darker background. The central image utilizes a softer palette for the background in order to emphasize the icons.

Overview:
This project was highly successful for both myself and the MCCGJA. After designing the posters, we then worked on updating their brochures and various marketing materials, including hanging banners and online ads. Overall, I helped bring cohesion to the MCCGJA branding.
